Hard Things

Life is full of things which are hard or tedious or otherwise unpleasant that need doing anyhow. They help make the world go 'round, they improve skills, and they boost your sense of self-respect. But doing them still kinda sucks. It's all the more difficult to do those things when nobody appreciates it. Happily, blogging allows us to share our accomplishments and pat each other on the back.

What are some of the hard things you've done recently?

Figuring out that no matter what happens in the other Washington, we need to leave this one, and hammering out the compromise as to where/when/etc... it's getting done, and Lady willing it will have a happy ending, but still. Easy is a four-letter word.
I am sorry to hear that your home is becoming uninhabitable. I hope you can make a safe transition with as minimal upset as possible. *hugs*
Seconded.

Includes figuring out a couple of things:
1. We can't afford to stay in this house after I retire.
2. It's time for me to retire. Past time, probably.
3. There are places to live that are both less expensive, and better in many ways.
That does give you a chance to look for housing friendly to the concept of aging-in-place and multigenerational living. I have no idea what the housing situation looks like in Vermont, but a progressive state seems a promising place to search for such features.
