Good News

The crowdfunding Creative Jam went well this past weekend. Our theme was "ideas."

There will be a Poetry Fishbowl on Tuesday, April 19 featuring An Army of One.  Now is a good time to catch up on that series, or explore issues in neurovariant rights, to start thinking about prompts for which storylines you want to expand.

Poetry in Microfunding:
"Holding Hope and Love" belongs to Polychrome Heroics.  It has 7 new verses, in which Cheersquad gives Zima some ideas for helping Lakia.  "The Door to Nowhere" is a crossover between P.I.E. and Schrodinger's Heroes.  Brenda and Darrel tangle with Evil!Schrodinger.  "When Someone Is Vulnerable" belongs to Polychrome Heroics: Officer Pink.  Turq crash-lands at Ansel's home.

Torn World writing update:
Approved as canon: "Unicorns on Parade" "Spruce Deer" "Wandering the Heights" (poetry).  Back to me for edits: "Winterheart" (parts 2-3), "Stinging Like Nettles"  "Off the Clock" (poetry).  Currently in front of the canon board: "Ghost Bat" (nonfiction). Drafted: "Like Ash Before the Wind," "From Dark to Bright," "The Inappropriate But Useful Disposal of Lettuce" "A Thin Red Trail" (fiction), "Changes in the Wind" (poetry), "Southern Breads" "Tangleweed Article" (articles), Jularei (character sheet).  In revision at home: "Water Dance," "When the Wind's Teeth Sing," "Raining Kittens," "Finding the Holes," "Broken Hopes," "Brewing Beauty," "Little Paws in the Licenses" (fiction), "The Smallest Invaders," "Raising the Future" "Beach Pies" "Unsolid Ground" "Riding from the Rescue" "To Ride Death" (poetry), "Rammer" (nonfiction).  Currently writing: "Catch of the Day," "A Cold Clear Night" (fiction).

Today is a nice spring day, warm and sunny.  It's been like this for most of the week, so we've accomplished a lot outside.  \o/  We finished the first batch of planting and are doing cleanup until we get more plants.  Seen at the bird feeders this week: small flock of sparrows, several mourning doves, a pair of cardinals, many grackles, a red-bellied woodpecker, and a squirrel.  Yesterday there was a blue jay, which we used to have here, but I haven't seen one in the yard for years.  I also saw a brown thrasher on the hopper feeder this morning, which is somewhat unusual as they tend to eat insects and berries more than seeds.  Daffodils are winding down and the pear tree is done.  Currently blooming: violets, hyacinths, crabapples, apple, cherries, redbud.
