La Belle et la Bête

"La Belle et la Bête" is a French film that goes back to the roots of the classic fairy tale.  I stumbled across a trailer online, and it looks quite good.  I am particularly charmed by having the original French dialog with English subtitles.

Looks lovely. And if you know french, then you make get twice the charm out of the dialog.

I had seen the Jean Cocteau version as a child, then much later as an adult. The dialog lost a lot in translation, as in ...

French: C'est votre rêve d'être loin de moi.

(That is: It is your dream to be far from me.)

English Subtitle was: You want to go.

Only fragments, but my linguistic coprocessor can hack anything Indo-European pretty well.

Wow, that is a horrid lack of expression in that translation. No wonder people don't like subtitled shows. :/
