Generally Sponsored Poetry Poll for October 2008 Fishbowl
Okay, folks, this one is going to be a circus. Out of the 23 poems I wrote yesterday, 3 have already been published here. The remaining 20 are ALL eligible. There is one $5 poem: "The Wax Wife." There are ten $10 poems: "The Cackling of Crones," "Eviction, Noticed," "Masking the Light," "Second Date Data," "Signal to Noys," "SKPA in San Francisco," "Three-Faced," "Tunnel Revision," "Under the Bed," and "What I Miss the Most." There are eight $15 poems: "Evil Fruit," "Fly Away Home," "The Hungry Organ," "If the Slipper Fits," "The Mummy Child," "Nightmares For Sale SOLD," "Playing the Bones," and "The Spectres Ahead." There is one $20 poem: "In the Glass."

With $48 in general donations, you have a vast array of options, so I'm just going to list all the poems individually. I had to break them into two questions this time, so the $5 poem and the $10 poems are in the first question, and the $15 poems and the $20 poem are in the second question. (You can spread your votes across both questions if you wish, there just wasn't room to cram everything into one question.) This month's donors -- dakiwiboid, dulcinbradbury, minor_architect, janetmiles, and je_reviens -- may each vote for a total of FIVE poems. Other audience members may each vote for a total of THREE poems. Later I'll look at the results and compare them to the available funds, then see if that produces a final combination of poems to publish. If necessary I can do a tie-breaker poll or something.

I know. It's just extra feedback, in case it's helpful for you.

Yes!

Feedback is always welcome. Feedback is candy! I like knowing why people make the choices they do.

I know that a good title can hook audience interest. Someday I should do a post on that topic.

I liked Spectres Ahead & would recommend it. :)

Good idea!

It didn't occur to me to suggest this, but yes, you're welcome to make recommendations! I try to send at least some of my poems (via LJ message or email) to the people whose prompts inspired them; those are for your eyes only, not for posting or sharing elsewhere, but you can sure tell people here which one(s) you liked the best. That plus the summary descriptions in the original fishbowl post can help people decide how to vote.

Feedback

I have to admit that I miss the rhymes....

Re: Feedback

Don't worry, they'll probably be back next time. *grin* Especially if folks include rhyming forms among their prompts!

For those who may find these opinions useful:

Elizabeth kindly sent me copies of the poems she wrote during yesterday's Fishbowl which were inspired by my prompts. Of the ones I read, my favorites were:

* "If The Slipper Fits" (for making me think)
* "Masking The Light" (for more of the above)
* "Under The Bed" (for making me laugh)
* "Nightmares For Sale SOLD" (for creeping me out)

I'm not sure if this will help anyone else to decide on which poems to vote for, but I thought I'd throw it out there, just in case. :)

that;s great! personally I want to be CREEPED OUT!

Okay, I've posted the two most popular poems, "The Cackling of Crones" and "If the Slipper Fits." There's still funding left, so I'm going to post a followup poll narrowing down the options to poems with 3 votes.
