Yes...

That's a good idea. A super-gizmotronic, or even just gizmotronic, version of that would deter most thieves. Noted and logged for future reference, thanks.

I do have references for superhera and supervillain purses.

Re: Yes...

But I thought black was the new white in superhero costumery? See also Hawkeye, Black Widow, Nick Fury, and the new incarnation of a certain Chiropteraesque DC hero which I will leave nameless because DC cheats their creative staff...

Re: Yes...

I do have a few superheros with black in their costumes, but it's not common. Conversely, not many supervillains wear white, although some do. They use "black cape" and "white cape" as slang. Antimatter's whole costume is white, except for a black lab coat, as a reversal of the usual. Even in little things, like the base color in weapons -- a superhero's zap gun is more likely to be yellow and white, a supervillain's to be yellow and black, or whatever.

So with accessories, there is a range of colors. The most popular for superhera purses are brown or white, sometimes pink, occasionally other colors. For supervillains the favorites are black or gray, sometimes red, occasionlly other colors. And they're wearing the same purse in different ways, that one can be fastened in about a dozen configurations. Superheras favor the underarm holster style, while supervillains favor the thigh holster style. Both are very secure and functional. They just look different. It's a cultural thing, stacking up a lot of little clues that hint -- but don't guarantee -- someone's affiliation.

The choices aren't random. I don't necessarily catch or understand all of them, but I do call out patterns when I spot them, because it's useful and illuminating. They're not absolutes, but are trends. Those can reveal interesting things about how the characters think.

*noddles*....

Interesting that the white capes go for something that could be discrete, while the black hats go for that tacticool look (credit for the coined word to Jack Lewis)...

Often true, although the spectrum of discreet to tacticool is distinct from good/evil. There are flamboyant and subtle people on both sides. Tacticool is a definite trend, though. It's not just about having a functional uniform or about impressing people. The best do both. I think Kraken takes the pot on that one. With a side of utter hilarity for having their uniforms turn screaming neon colors if stolen by a non-member.

I'll raise that.

Re: Yes...

And, yeah, that's a total hoot with the neon defence mechanism...

Re: Yes...

Yay! I'm glad you like it. Feel free to request the Kraken uniform defense mechanism in a prompt call.

*superheroes strip the clothes off a fallen Kraken agent*

"I love how the bad guys always wear funny underpants."

"Yeah, but how come his has lollipops all over?"

*uniform turns neon colors*
