Available free online is the e-book The Career Novelist by Donald Maass. It contains some useful information about the business of writing. It also contains an annoying number of blank pages near the front -- I thought it was having trouble downloading -- so don't panic, just scroll down.

I think it's just a pdf of an actual printed book, in which case the blank pages make sense as they are the BACK of the page before. So in book form, it would make sense.
