NO MEANS NO

Apparently some people in Washington have a hard time understanding the word NO. They also don't seem to understand how voting works. Apparently we need to keep shouting at them.

The vote has just come in and we won. BUT, the House leadership of the Republicans and Democrats is right now doing backroom arm-twisting to get your representatives to change their votes. If they can get 13 Representatives to change their vote, the bailout will pass. If we all take action right now to make phone calls and emails, we can stop this effort to hijack this significant victory for the people in Congress.

I may or may not try - I know that trying is what counts, but I'm almost sure that the letter from one lone Aussie with a strange name will go unnoticed, let alone read.

Ignore me like they ignore you? Please, I think they'd listen to me and my countrymen more - we'd be like court jesters to them. our accents would just remove any serious message from our words and just have them in childish fits of giggles.
I know where we stand, us colonists & convicts, in the eyes of the elected Brits and US officials...I'm at peace with it :)
