Failed Economic Policies

jrittenhouse has condensed some very cogent criticisms of Bush's economic policies. In essence, the economy is melting down because the policies used to create it do not work as advertised.

What it seems to boil down to is that every couple generations or so the people have to learn that no, the laws of economics have not been repealed. No, the market is not going to go up up and up and never come down again this time EITHER.

I've thought for years that with this anti-regulation, right-wing rah rah pro-Honest Businessman ethos that equates money to virtue, we in the United States have returned ourselves to the Robber Baron gilded age of 1900. And now we seem to have gone from 1900 to 1929 in one step.
