Building Orthanc, Part 3

my_partner_doug and I continue building the Tower of Orthanc.

This is an inside view of the tower thus far.

Session 5a

This is an outside view of the tower.

Session 5b

Here are the parts for our fifth session.

Session 5 Parts

This is a subassembly for the next floor/ceiling.  The different colors make it easier to see what goes where.

Session 5 Subassembly

Here is the subassembly in place, along with some taller gray bricks.  Around the edges are a bunch of pegs.  Every barbarian knows the reason for putting a whole lot of hooks on the outside of your tower: because you plan to hang severed heads from them.  I am seriously considering buying some extra skulls for that purpose.

Session 5c

Now all the floor/ceiling plates are in position.

Session 5d

Here's view of the outside.  You can see the red attachment points that will anchor the staircase into that concave corner below the doors.

This is the subassembly for the staircase.

The staircase now leads up to the balcony doors.

This subassembly shows one of the wall decorations.

The stairs seem to be at a 45°, how is the part the connecting parts match connected to the rest of the model?

Yes, the stairs are angled that way. If I remember right, the red sockets are built into part of the wall. It's not perfectly stable with only those two small points of attachment, but it won't come off easily.
