Oh, that's gorgeous! This is something I've been enjoying watching here as well; there were a couple of big fires near the highway when I first moved back to Alaska after living in Illinois, and it's been fun watching the wildflowers and increasingly larger plants recolonizing those areas.
Many plants are designed to respond to fires or other large disturbances, so a fire triggers a growth spurt and a specific succession of plants.
