Employee-owned Companies

... are apparently on the rise, including the grocery store Publix in Florida, which is beating the pants off Wal-Mart.  This fills me with glee.  I like to see a company creating good jobs.  I like to see workers invested in their own jobs, not being treated as chattel by profiteering bosses.  And I love seeing a bullycorp getting kicked in the bags.

That's awesome. I tended towards Kroger in Atlanta, but if I ever go back and have the choice, I will definitely support Publix with my custom...
My parents are in Publix territory and shop there regularly.

My grandpa was a union man who never stopped singing their rally songs. I do my best to avoid scab stores like WalMart.
Publix also purposely hires people of mental disadvantage to bag, which I always thought was awesome. :)
Oh, that is awesome! I feel that there should be jobs for every ability level, so that people have the opportunity to support themselves and be productive.
