Diverting Asteroids

This article discusses some possible ways of diverting largish asteroids that might hit the Earth.

I first thought "gravity tractor" might refer to actual early steps toward graviton technology. Alas, it only refers to using the mass of a spacecraft to tug an asteroid slightly off course. That's still a good thing.

hee hee Yeah, if there's one thing I learned in astronomy it's that astronomers are NOT very creative when it comes to naming things. Other sciences might have given that a different, cool sounding title. Astronomers? "Gravity tractor." heehee

On the bright side, I guess it makes astronomy easier for the lay person to comprehend. :)
