Sometimes our limitations define our interests as we learn to work around them. I tend to procrastinate; so I overcompensate deliberately by turning things in early; which makes me popular with editors.

I feel that it's vital to get the perspective of people with the relevant traits, for similar reasons as you point out. This is why I draw inspiration from neurovariant people in writing this series.
