That's an interesting visual trick. When I first saw that these states only constituted 60% of the states, I was rather floored. Visually and spatially it makes up quite a bit more.

And why do I have the urge to call the red shaded areas Mini-USA.
Yeah, I've missed the little ones on the eastern coast.

I'm about the same percentage, but rotated.

There was also the brief side-trip into Alabama, where we saw the cave and had lunch.
D'oh! How could I forget Alabama? Good catch, thanks.

Only 10...

But I'm sure that'll change once I start jobhunting.
You've made it to Mississippi, but haven't visited Alabama? Or Georgia? Or Florida? Those interesting states? ;)
Alabama, check.

I sort of think I've been to Georgia and the Florida panhandle, but I'm not quite certain. I would've been about 12 at the time, and we hit dozens of states on those trips.
OMGosh, you have never been to any of the original 13 colonies??

Perhaps you might make a special trip out this way for the 2012 Between the Worlds conference....

Highway 80, she's a mighty good road.
Yup, my dad and I drove cross country when he moved back to CA. It was allot of fun! We stopped to see Dinosaur National Monument, very cool!

Alas, no, my travels haven't taken me there yet. I'd enjoy going, if I can ever afford it. So far I'm at the stage of popularity where I can usually get into F&SF or Pagan events free in exchange for speaking, but not quite to a point where people pay me to come speak at events.
