Snow

It's snowing here in central Illinois.  Fat white flakes, and indeed, huge clusters of flakes the size of quarters or half-dollars, floating down softly to stick to everything, some of the biggest crystal formations I have ever seen fall from the sky.  Beautiful.  (But then, I'm not the one who does most of the shoveling.)  The birds were all over the feeders earlier -- a couple dozen sparrows, at least half a dozen lady cardinals and a couple of males -- but have mostly retreated to shelter now.  And the squirrel.  I refilled the feeders for when they come back.

As long as it's not a tiny spoon in your nose,
a snow blower is one of the best things you'll ever own.
:)
Oh, and I was telling someone just a couple days ago
that I'm really glad to see the snow,
and feel the cold,
because I was afraid all through the 100-degree summer
that we might not have winter any more.
Enjoy this one like there may never be another.
My father was overjoyed with the arrival of the new tractor, complete with snow blower attachment. That'll give you some idea of we tend to regard snow. :P
