Poem: "Blue and Pink"

This poem came from the December 4, 2012 Poetry Fishbowl.  It was inspired by an image prompt from madshutterbug.  It has been sponsored by Anthony & Shirley Barrette.

Blue and Pink

Winter's wings are made of snow
To bear her where the north winds go.

Winter's clothes are trimmed in fur
For bears are not as strong as her.

Blue as ice is Winter's cloth
As she renews the season's troth.

White as snow is Winter's trim
To show as shortened days may dim.

In one hand she holds a cup
Of winter wine to cheer her up.

In the other sits a doll
Blue as Winter, not so tall.

Pink is fine for springtime girls
Who dream of houses, cars, and curls.

Some girls wish for Barbie's things
And some for Winter's icy wings.
