It's not a theme in every poem, and the tone varies a lot from one poem to another. Some are celebratory. Others are really rather dark. Because when God decides to reach for a bigger clue-by-four, some people get it and others still don't. Overall, though, the Fledging means a tremendous change for humanity. They can't avoid it; there's no point arguing with God.

Birth, death. Salvation, damnation. Transformation.

The only way out is through.
