Time for Some Campaignin'

Here's a hilarious piece of equal-opportunity satire that makes fun of Bush, McCain, Hillary, and Obama -- and the whole concept of political campaigning.

The unicorn was a nice touch.

Yes, I loved that too. Obama does get terribly elfy-welfy at times.

Sometimes politics is like marriage: a good match means finding someone whose irritating habits you can live with.
I wasn't sure if I should watch, but it's actually really good. I wasn't really expecting a musical number. :)

My fav line was about promising everything you want to hear. IT'S SO TRUE! Even up here! Promise promise promise then once in office... what promises?
I resent the fact that politicians are routinely allowed to lie their way into office. I think if they state a platform and make promises, they should be legally obligated to follow through and held liable if they do not. The way things are now is bait-and-switch fraud, and that is illegal in other contexts. Many people make vital voting decisions based on what candidates promise, and then are cheated. That's not right. It drives voters away from the polls and lets politicians do darn near anything they please, and the result is ghastly.
Oh, absolutely. One of the ways our current Prime Minister got voted in was by promising more transparency of what the government is doing, as well as more accountability for their actions.

Then they got in office and became the most secretive party yet. So secretive that at times when he went to visit the troops overseas, no one knew about it until he got there. o.O

So much for transparency, eh?
