I can't recall if I told you this, but on Traipah, their government only governs off-worlders. Citizens by birth or naturalization are not subject to the government. Technically, it's a socialist anarchist system. Guilds (like corporations, but ethical), Orders, and other organizations work together to create a global network for helping each other out. Their economy is mostly local, with limited global trading.

One of the really good ideas on Traipah is that they have a global power grid, and different regions can sell their excess electricity to regions experiencing high demand. On Earth, Bucky Fuller proposed a similar idea.
