Monday Update 10-8-12

These are some posts from the later part of last week in case you missed them:
Feelings vs. Feels
Read "An Instructive Conversation"
2011 Dwarf Stars Finalists
List of Emotions

Our internet connection continues to be made of spuz. The new antennas are on the tower, which has fixed everyone's service except ours.  So they're supposed to come replace our house antenna.  The service interruptions have me running late with the Poetry Fishbowl stuff; sorry about that.

Polls are currently open for generally sponsored poetry and for the series to get a free epic.  I'll get to the complete followup post when I can.  Meanwhile, use the "poem" tag to catch up on reading you may have missed.  There will be a half-price poetry sale (carried over from last month's perk fulfillment) from Monday, October 15-Sunday, October 21.  A poll to select the series for that will follow the free epic poll.

I am finally finished with all my assignments for the 2014 Llewellyn annuals!  I crammed in 2 articles for the Herbal Almanac  and 25 minispells for the Spell-A-Day Almanac  in the last week.  So this week's calendar includes important tasks like "go to a movie" and "rest my brain."

Poetry in Microfunding:
"The Forging of Brisingamen" belongs to The Asgard Eddas. It is being funded in sections by DW user jb_slasher.  This is mythic science fiction.  There are several new verses, so go read about how the treaty gets sealed.

Torn World writing update:
Approved as canon: "Squiggles: Excerpts from Nleimen's Journal," (fiction) "The Urge to Fly" "Felting Together" (poetry).  Back to me for edits: "Breaking the Ice," (fiction), "Patterns in the Grass" "A Nap Under the Stars" "Neighboring Attractions" "Five Red Beads" "A Light in the Darkness" "Light Above Water" (poetry). Currently in front of the canon board: "Beached Fish" "Reaching for the Moons" (fiction),  "Breeding the Perfect Fighter," "Autumn Gathering," "The Sound of an Argument," "The Charity Wall," "These Small Essential Pieces," "Flying in the Wind" (poetry), "Ghost Bat" "Half-Leg," (nonfiction).  Drafted: "Cutting Cords and Clasping Hands," "Like Ash Before the Wind," "From Dark to Bright," "The Inappropriate But Useful Disposal of Lettuce" "A Thin Red Trail" "The Museum of Mortality" (fiction), "Changes in the Wind" (poetry), "Publishers in the Empire" (nonfiction).  In revision at home: "Water Dance," "When the Wind's Teeth Sing," "Raining Kittens," "Finding the Holes" (fiction),  "The Smallest Invaders" (poetry).  Currently writing: "Catch of the Day," "Winterheart" "A Cold Clear Night" (fiction).

Weather here is turning cooler.  We've had some intermittent rain.  Leaves are turning colors.  I heard a bluejay screaming in the yard recently, and saw a squirrel -- two critters we haven't had recently.  I need to think about filling the birdfeeders again.

Yeesh! Yes, time for one's self is definitely a priority!
Summer is always my busy season for writing, because of the Llewellyn assignments. It just got extra hectic this time because I lost a big chunk of time earlier to a family situation, and then recently more time to internet malfunction.

I am really, really, looking forward to taking a few days to relax and catch up on other stuff.
