Chaosbrat here to politely disagree with that, hello and good morning!

This process and its results could be used in all manner of spells to do with wearing things down, or accelerating the time needed for some task to be completed... and just imagine the results of writing a problem on a piece of glass, breaking it, and then for good measure tossing the pieces into a cement mixer to wear the ink away and the edges down, all with intent!
That makes sense.

All the spells I'd seen previously were about sea magic; I didn't look for other things that could be done.
