Good one. :)

Now you *know* I'm going to turn the tables on you at the next fishbowl, right? I want to know what happened in the centuries in between!

Oh! yes, please!

Okay...

marina_bonomi and I are talking about continuing this, if you're willing. My next Poetry Fishbowl is on Tuesday, July 3 with a theme of alternate history so that's a perfect fit. You're welcome to come watch or prompt if you wish, and I'm perfectly happy if you want to write more in this timeline too.

Yay! I'm glad you liked it. I was really happy with this one too.

By synchronicity, Tuesday's theme in my fishbowl will be alternate history. Feel free to look up another linchpin in this timeline, preferably with a reference link so I'll know what it's about.

*chuckle* I did take one look at that poem and think that I'd found your home timeline.

Reading your note here, it occurs to me that there's something else which could be done with crowdfunding. Suppose a patron, rather than a creative person, wanted to make a project. They could do it by establishing a context and then requesting it from a bunch of different people, and adding up all the "from my prompts" stuff. I think it would need to be something like this "China and Italy become allies" example -- simple to explain, easy to pick up at any point without having to know a lot of continuity. That would make it possible for new creators to jump in and produce something good that would reasonably fit. It would be a whole new way of creating a shared-world project. The results could be collected and shared by the patron, much the way creators often create a landing page for a given project or setting.

Huh, I should think about doing that myself. Schrodinger's Heroes is fun but too specific for this approach. I'd need something more accessible, yet still with an attractive central theme. I know lots of people who do prompt calls.

Re: Thoughts

Very interesting idea, I'd be interested in pursuing this timeline with you and thesilentpoet if you two agree and are interested,

Re: Thoughts

I've mentioned this to thesilentpoet so let's see what happens.

Re: Thoughts

I definitely agree. As I just left to marina_bonomi in a comment, I knew in writing this, I'd want to come back to it. I also love the idea of making this an open project, where others can jump in and contribute. I can definitely see that through, if you have too much on your plate. (Coincidentally, I was thinking of contributing a Schrodinger's Heroes poem to my own current project.)

As for Tuesday, my work schedule has changed. YAY more hours. So, not sure when I'd be able to jump in with prompts, all depends on lunches, I think, but definitely in the evening. I'm home (hopefully) by 730 EDT, so 630 by you. I could also email you tomorrow in advance.

Yay! This will be so much fun.

I'm happy to write for it too. I'm not sure what to use as a series title, though.

SQUEE! I would love that. The menu page collects all the background information and links to items published online. Let me know when your piece goes up, and I'll link it too.

If you're worried about missing the fishbowl, just send me a batch of your advance prompts whenever you think of them. I'd rather save them for Tuesday than have you miss out.

Re: Thoughts

Just sent you a PM with my prompts. 3 are of this Italy/China 'verse.

I'll try to check-in during my lunch break, if nothing else, I'll definitely catch up this evening once I'm home.
