We had a dobie when I was about 2 years old.
I don't actually remember Rex, but I remember tales my Mom used to tell about how he decided he was my babysitter.
She also said they bobbed his tail in self-defence because he was so tall he could clear a bridge table with one wag, but they left his ears long so he would not look so threatening to the neighbors.
This is the first picture I can remember seeing of a dobie with un-clipped ears.
So THAT is what Rex looked like!
