I have, in my main fantasy universe, a species of beings called Darhadjay who were designed by the bad guys to be soldiers for evil. At least one of them defected to the side of good.

And of the soldiers of the side of good, one of *them* defected to the side of evil.

Oh, and the main bad guys, the Gjaydes, are made out of congealed fear and hatred, but one of them defects to the side of good and gets a species change to Angel.

And demons can go either way, just like humans.
This sounds like a really cool arrangement.
