Sun Blocked

The government, with its usual foresight, has blocked the construction of new solar power plants.

Citing Need for Assessments, US Freezes Solar Energy Projects
Dan Frosch reports for The New York Times: "Faced with a surge in the number of proposed solar power plants, the federal government has placed a moratorium on new solar projects on public land until it studies their environmental impact, which is expected to take about two years."

Given the current regime's close ties to the oil industry, this is hardly surprising. It's not just a conflict of interest, it's a full-on wrestling match and the government has just grabbed a chair with which to hit its opponent.

Well, nobody's perfect. I'm sure Obama has some flaws and bad habits that will prove irritating. But he's generally coherent, and one of the main things I like about him is that he seems open to input. I think, when he's problem-solving, if the first attempt doesn't work, he'll be able to back up and try something else. He also has exceptional ability to inspire other people to do things, and that's desperately needed now. So I think "less conflicted" is likely.
The irony of their using "environmental impact" against SOLAR PLANTS is beyond astounding... my God, the Onion can't keep up, can it?
Yeah ... their nomenclature and processing remind me disturbingly of Minitru.
I vote for the Dems getting in power this November and removing the moratorium.

I agree; the irony of examining the "environmental impact" of the solar plants is truly astounding.
