At my school, I showed the Stewart/Tennant version of Hamlet, which has actors of different races playing various roles.

My classes responded to it very positively. One guy said it was the first horror movie he'd seen where the black guy (Horatio) was the only major character to live through to the end of the movie.

I liked how, in the last Torchwood series, the black CIA agent and pretty much the only major black character in the whole show, not only doesn't die (despite being run through by a metal pole in the first episode), but becomes another immortal like Captain Jack. The only two immortal men in the world, and one of them is black. :-)

It's an awesome series. Captain Jack is an immortal bisexual man from the future (well, omnisexual; he'll fuck anything sentient, willing, and of age), Gwen is a Welsch cop who joined Torchwood, and Miracle Day wasn't the first time they played with the idea of dead people still walking around conscious.

And OMG, "Children of Earth" was creepy as hell.
