At my school, I showed the Stewart/Tennant version of Hamlet, which has actors of different races playing various roles.

My classes responded to it very positively. One guy said it was the first horror movie he'd seen where the black guy (Horatio) was the only major character to live through to the end of the movie.
I actually have a plot sketch for a horror movie, "Football Bus from Hell," in which the two black characters are the only survivors.

It really annoys me when the only exceptional character -- the only black, the only lesbian, etc. -- gets killed in a show or a story. So I tend to counterbalance that in my own writing. *chuckle* Which has led to some of my characters joking that a straight white male in my writing has the life expectancy of a redshirt...
