The two parts seem to be 'nothing about my characters can be changed without ruining them' and 'people making bad derivative works makes me crazy with rage'. I can't really identify with any of that.
It goes beyond bad derivative work. Whitewashing away a character's race is a form of racism. It's saying "this character can't possibly be anything but a stereotype with that color, so we'll just edit that unfortunate color away."
It can also mean that someone thinks race is irrelevant, or they don't think they can find appropriate actors (or could but don't want to work with them), or they think they'll make more money from their target demographic, etc. None of which is particularly a good idea.
