How to Make Misogynists Shut Up

I looked at these obnoxious bits of news:

"Virginia House Getting All Up in Your Vagina"
"Access to Birth Control Under Attack in Congress"

... and Pelosi's response ...

... and I had an idea for discouraging Congressmen from violating women's rights.

Every time they submit a bill that will harm women, all the Congresswomen should filibuster it ... and talk about nothing but menstruation, tampons, ovulation, childbirth, and other women's business until the patriarchs give up. Because there is nothing that such men want to hear about less.

I suggest you suggest it directly to Pelosi, and publish either her response or her lack thereof.

Seems to me in order to work better, some younger aides should go bleed on the Thuglicans directly, if we have women in our camp who'd be willing to be sufficiently impolite to violate a nominal fellow-human's personal space.

best,

Joel.
Let's not have them do that. It gives an excuse to respond in kind, and young interns are already vulnerable to harrassment with minimal recourse.
Might work. Actually the Virginia House Bill I think they have in mind was an interesting ploy; I discussed that today at Blogspot.

I think you should run this idea by Elizabeth Warren and some of the other Progressive female candidates or current legislators. It's a wonderful idea.
I. Am. Very. Amused.
Even the most diehard republician will disappear from the room when they arrive at the topic of "Hemorrhoids and Pregnancy".
The last of the liberals will be routed by "Stretchmarks I Have Known".
;)
I totally sent her an email to this effect, here: http://www.democraticleader.gov/contact

Because this is the best idea I've heard all day.
Heh. SO true.

In pagan gatherings, if we want to get the guys out of the room, we just need to start talking "women's mysteries". They turn pale and flee... and if they don't, we'll get graphic. :)
