I gotta ask, why donate to one when there are so many free RPGs out there already?
Why donate to any crowdfunding project when there's free stuff, or buy a book when there are libraries? Sometimes it's about wanting to support specific people. Sometimes it's because you want a particular product. Sometimes it's because you want to participate in what develops. Sometimes it's because you just like the business model.

Meanwhile, for a fast-flexible-free system, there is PDQ in the Atomic Sock Monkey games.
Right, but looking at their kickstarter, it doesn't seem like they have anything specific in mind-- it reads to me more like 'make a buck off of fans who distrust Big Game Company' while then proceeding to write Pathfinder 1.1.

PDQ looks decent. ^_^
