In Which a Cardinal is a Clinging Bird After All

I've watched one of the lady cardinals try to eat out of the sock feeder with no success, falling off immediately.  But one of the males has absolutely no trouble hanging sideways, for as long as he wants, pecking out thistle seeds.  Why a cardinal would want to eat something as tiny as thistle seed is beyond me, but he's welcome to it.

My yard is filled with determined and ingenious creatures.
