Probably $10-20 depending on what you wanted. Last time I did this was for family and four of us sat in Dairy Queen brainstorming for about two hours, then I went home and searched the ideas online to cross off the ones that were already in use. It's easier with a familiar topic, but I'm pretty flexible.
