If it is legal to force women to go through a risky medical procedure entirely for the sake of another and not themselves- the fetus- then we ought to be seeing laws that force everyone to go though things like bone marrow and kidney donations, just because someone else might die without that. It's the same principle... except the donation thing would also apply to men.
So- let's do that! And then we can have a sane discussion about whether or not the state has the right to require one to go through a painful and risky medical procedure entirely for someone else's benefit, without misogyny getting in the way. (I'd vote no, myself.)

One thing that really gets my goat is that there are plenty of young women who KNOW by age 21 that they don't want to become mothers--ever--but just try to get your tubes tied at that age!
You'll look half of forever before you find a doctor willing to do that on such a young woman. Heck, for that matter, try finding one willing to do it on a 30 year old woman.
