 I was impressed by this Sherlock BBC story, "Subliminal," which does an exceptional job of showing Sherlock's thought processes.  It's slower going in text than the television version, but accomplishes the same thing.  Always useful to know.

I would like to see more of that in future shows. It gives the viewer a chance to see the clues and make guesses themselves.
