Obama Supports Middle Class

Finally, Obama speaks up for the middle class.  Of course, this made the Republicans declare that (Republican) President Teddy Roosevelt must have been a socialist.  Some days, you just want to beat people with a dictionary.

It was an utterly awesome speech; I was thrilled to be there in the audience for it. I had to smile when I heard snippets of it being quoted on NPR later that day 'cause I'd BEEN there and heard it live.

I was interviewed briefly later (but I forget by which paper) and said that I hoped the hostile Senate would allow these amazing concepts to be realized but that I doubted it.
You were lucky to be there. *ponder* If you decide to blog about that in more detail, please let me know and I'll link it. With the commercial media falling down on the job, I try to pick up some of the slack as an information dispensary.
I blogged about it a bit yesterday but I need to do another one that is more political/philosophical in nature rather than a description of the day that included an unsuccessful rescue of a poor cat that was attacked by dogs. And believe me, that event was definitely recast as a political commentary on the way home.
