Cuddle Party

Everyone needs contact comfort sometimes. Not everyone has ample opportunities for this in facetime. So here is a chance for a cuddle party in cyberspace. Virtual cuddling can help people feel better.

We have a cuddle room that comes with fort cushions, fort frames, sheets for draping, and a weighted blanket. A nest full of colorful egg pillows sits in one corner. There is a basket of grooming brushes, hairbrushes, and styling combs. A bin holds textured pillows. There is a big basket of craft supplies along with art markers, coloring pages, and blank paper. The kitchen has a popcorn machine. Labels are available to mark dietary needs, recipe ingredients, and level of spiciness. Here is the bathroom, open to everyone. There is a lawn tent and an outdoor hot tub. Bathers should post a sign for nude or clothed activity. Come snuggle up!

Platonic Love Fest Bingo Card 9-1-21

Here is my card for the Platonic Love Fest Bingo. It runs from September 1-30. Explore close relationships not based on sex/romance. (See all my 2021 bingo cards.)

If you'd like to sponsor a particular square, especially if you have an idea for what character, series, or situation it would fit -- talk to me and we'll work something out. I've had a few requests for this and the results have been awesome so far. This is a good opportunity for those of you with favorites that don't always mesh well with the themes of my monthly projects. I may still post some of the fills for free, because I'm using this to attract new readers; but if it brings in money, that means I can do more of it. That's part of why I'm crossing some of the bingo prompts with other projects, such as the Poetry Fishbowl.

Underlined prompts have been filled.

Memorial Gems

This article mentions turning human remains into diamonds

It's not the first reference I've seen.  I came across some for ash-gems, more akin to volcanic gems, years ago when writing about death and memorial options.  These can be gorgeous, but the problem is, they're also ruinously  expensive, in an industry that already costs a ridiculous and damaging amount of money.

Fortunately there are also other options.  Among my favorites was a place that made paperweights by rolling molten glass in the ash.  This left a shimmering, dancing spiral veil inside the clear glass.  It was much more modestly priced -- less than the larger funeral bouquets.

Poem: "A Dish for Family"

This poem came out of the August 3, 2021 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by prompts from [personal profile] erulisse, [personal profile] janetmiles, [personal profile] fuzzyred, and my_partner_doug. It also fills the "unexpected mercy / generosity" square in my 8-2-21 card for the August Intimacies Bingo fest. This poem has been sponsored by Anthony &  Shirley Barrette.  It belongs to the Rutledge thread of the Polychrome Heroics series.
