Hard Things

Life is full of things which are hard or tedious or otherwise unpleasant that need doing anyhow. They help make the world go 'round, they improve skills, and they boost your sense of self-respect. But doing them still kinda sucks. It's all the more difficult to do those things when nobody appreciates it. Happily, blogging allows us to share our accomplishments and pat each other on the back.

What are some of the hard things you've done recently? What are some hard things you haven't gotten to yet, but need to do? Is there anything your online friends could do to make your hard things a little easier?

Pear and Sour Cream Muffins

We had a shipment of pears arrive in wretched condition.  Fortunately, I know that overripe fruit still has some uses.  I searched online and found this recipe for Pear and Sour Cream Muffins.  It used up the last of the sour cream and 2 of the pears.  \o/

Also, the muffins are delicious.  I just took them out of the oven.  They are sort of amber colored with a spicy, fruity flavor.  :D  I love muffins with real food in them.  These have the pears and some whole-wheat flour, and use less sugar than average.

Poem: "This Very Moment"

This poem was written outside the regular prompt calls. It fills the "family portraits" square in my 12-1-20 card for the Winter Fest Bingo. It has been sponsored by a pool with [personal profile] fuzzyred, [personal profile] ng_moonmoth, [personal profile] mama_kestrel, and [personal profile] janetmiles. This poem belongs to the Shiv thread of the Polychrome Heroics series.

Warning: This poem touches on Shiv's difficult past and other issues with photographs.
