Today is partly sunny and comfortable in the shade.  Last night we got a good bit of rain.

I fed the birds.

A hosta is blooming in the purple-and-white garden, and there's a dwarf morning glory blooming in the barrel garden.

I sprayed weeds in the streetside yard.  Some have died back from previous spraying, some still left. 

Today we made a smoothie with:

1 cup Ceres guava juice blend
1 cup Brown Cow vanilla yogurt
1 banana
1/2 cup Season's Choice tropical blend frozen fruit (pineapple, mango, papaya, strawberry)
1 1/2 teaspoons acai berry powder
1/2 cup ice

This one is barely thicker than juice, with a faint lavender color.  The flavor is vaguely tropical.  I think the general concept would work better with goji berry instead of acai berry.

There are two open epics at present.

"Protect the Forests" belongs to Polychrome Heroics: Iron Horses. The Iron Horses talk about hunting and gathering.

"Pride Against Prejudice" belongs to Polychrome Heroics and has 9 new verses. The friends make it to Lucy's toy booth.


The weather has been a little cooler, and we got a good rain last night.  Seen at the birdfeeders this week: a flock of mourning doves, a flock of sparrows, a flock of house finches, several cardinals, a male goldfinch, and a squirrel.  Currently blooming: comfrey, pinks, violas, alyssum, petunia, daylilies, Queen Anne's lace, Shasta daisies, red bergamot, yellow coneflowers, purple coneflowers, cup plant, blackberry lily, wild senna, dwarf morning glory, hosta. Some blackberries have pink fruit.
