May 1st, 2020

Today was partly cloudy, breezy, and warm.

I fed the birds.

Round 1, we used the wheelbarrow to pick up the pile of brush in the ritual meadow.  Then we sorted out the other pile into brush which we moved, and kindling which we left.

Round 2, I went back out and moved the kindling to its proper place.  That clears all the big stuff in the ritual meadow, except for a few of the base logs.  We still need to rake up the smaller twigs though.

Round 3, I pulled weeds in the ritual meadow.

Round 4, I sowed wildflower seeds in the barrel garden and the septic garden.

Round 5, I pulled weeds in the south lot.

Round 6, I pulled weeds in the driveway and cut brush leading to the ritual meadow.

Today's Smoothie

Today we made a smoothie with:

1 cup grass-fed milk
1 cup Yoplait vanilla yogurt
1 banana
1/2 cup Season's Choice tropical blend frozen fruit (pineapple, mango, papaya, strawberry)
1/2 cup ice

This one isn't bad, with a dark ivory color and very creamy texture, but it doesn't have nearly as much flavor as usual.  Took me a little while to figure out that's because of using the milk (which only stays good for a few days, so we have to use it fast) instead of fruit nectar.

Poem: "Devils in the Soup Kitchen"

Based on an audience poll, this is the free epic for the April 21, 2020 Poetry Fishbowl reaching its $200 goal. It came out of the February 4, 2020 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by prompts from [personal profile] siliconshaman, [personal profile] erulisse, and Anonymous. It also fills the "Cooking with Love" square in my 2-1-20 card for the Valentines Bingo fest. This poem belongs to the Polychrome Heroics series and follows "A Little Heaven and Hell."

Sumerian Me Bingo Card 5-1-20

Here is my card for the Sumerian Me Bingo Fest over in [community profile] allbingo. It has a general list, then a couple of extra public cards for Sex / Romance and Sumerian Language.  I have made a mixed card. The fest runs from May 1-31. (See all my 2020 bingo cards.)

If you'd like to sponsor a particular square, especially if you have an idea for what character, series, or situation it would fit -- talk to me and we'll work something out. I've had a few requests for this and the results have been awesome so far. This is a good opportunity for those of you with favorites that don't always mesh well with the themes of my monthly projects. I may still post some of the fills for free, because I'm using this to attract new readers; but if it brings in money, that means I can do more of it. That's part of why I'm crossing some of the bingo prompts with other projects, such as the Poetry Fishbowl.

Underlined prompts have been filled.
