Here is a fairly detailed article about self-managed abortion.  It frames this largely as a future issue, but in reality, it happens whenever a woman needs an abortion but can't get one (due to restrictive laws, high cost, distance, etc.).  That's a problem, and it's only getting worse.

They'd have a lot more luck finding queer visibility if 1) they quit expecting it to look like modern homosexuality, and 2) they looked beyond white society.

How to keep your fire elemental from eating your marshmallows:

* Hold a marshmallow over the firepit.  "This is a dragon marshmallow.  Who's a good dragon?  Who wants a marshmallow?  Here you go!"  Throw it in.

* Put some marshmallows on roasting sticks.  "These are human marshmallows.  Don't eat them.    If you leave these alone, you'll get another marshmallow later."

* Later: "Good dragon!  Have another marshmallow!"

Total number of marshmallows accidentally dropped or set on fire: 0

Operant conditioning for fire elementals.

Who says you can't mix science and magic?

This is the freebie for the May [community profile] crowdfunding Creative Jam. It was inspired by a prompt from [personal profile] curiosity. It also fills the "Two of Arrows - Injustice" square in my 4-30-19 card for the Tarot Bingo fest. This poem belongs to the Polychrome Heroics series.

"Justice in Black and White"

[September 10, 2015]

This is the core difference between
white capes and black capes
on the topic of justice:

When injustice occurs,
white capes leap into action
and pursue it to the extent of the law.

Then they stop.

Black capes are slower to anger,
but once they begin pursuit,
they damn well don't stop until
the problem is solved.

Charge the baby with rape.   An unborn baby is, by definition, penetrating the private reproductive parts of a woman.  According to numerous modern laws, a woman has the right to refuse consent for touching her reproductive parts, or if she consents, she may withdraw that consent at any time whereupon the person touching her is obliged to disengage immediately.  Failure to disengage upon the instant constitutes rape.  As the rapist is committing a crime,  he may be removed by any force necessary, including lethal force.

An ugly response to a heinous assault on women's personhood, but hey, if we've stopped playing the Civilization game, anything goes.
