Emotional Intimacy Question: Death

Folks have mentioned an interest in questions and conversations that make them think. So I've decided to offer more of those. I'm starting with this list.

35. Of all the people in your family, whose death would you find most disturbing? Why?

My partner.  He handles most interfaces with mainstream culture, along with being a majority of my everyday emotional support.

Blood Trouble

I have mentioned before that institutionalized racism lives on in the blood quanta of tribal membership.  Here's a post that talks about the Bureau of Indian Affairs plan to stop issuing its Certificate Degree of Indian Blood, and more details appear here.  If you look at the left sidebar of the first post, there's a lot of material about tribal disenrollment, including this one about genocide.

EDIT 10/5/18: Here are some ways you can fight against disenrollment.

Thursday Yardening

Today is cloudy, damp, and mild.  We got a little more rain last night.  I saw a toad in the yard.

I planted 18 tulips 'Plum Pudding' (a mix of black, red-violet, and lavender-and-white flowers) in the purple-and-white garden.  I'll need to go back later and put mulch around there, the squirrels have been digging in it.

EDIT 10/4/18: I saw another toad.  I removed a mushroom from the south lot.  Then I hauled 5 buckets of mulch to cover the purple-and-white garden.
