Winterfest in July Bingo Card 7-1-18

Here is my card for the Winterfest in July Bingo fest.  It runs from July 1-30.  Celebrate all the holidays of winter!  (See all my 2018 bingo cards.)

If you'd like to sponsor a particular square, especially if you have an idea for what character, series, or situation it would fit -- talk to me and we'll work something out. I've had a few requests for this and the results have been awesome so far. This is a good opportunity for those of you with favorites that don't always mesh well with the themes of my monthly projects. I may still post some of the fills for free, because I'm using this to attract new readers; but if it brings in money, that means I can do more of it. That's part of why I'm crossing some of the bingo prompts with other projects, such as the Poetry Fishbowl.

Underlined prompts have been filled.

Sunday Yardening

Today is warm and muggy, mostly sunny.  Potted plants are drying out, although the sump pump is still bringing up water from deeper underground.

I fed birds and watered plants.  Butterflies are flocking to the barrel garden, now festooned with marigolds and lantana.  I am flattered by their fluttering.  :D

We also cut some overhanging branches in the ritual meadow.

New Idea for Fishbowl

I have two people wanting to sponsor squares in my new Winterfest in July bingo card.  Both are great ideas I can work with, useful for advancing storylines.  But I don't have the time to write them right this very minute.  I'm still trying to finish posting the sale material.

So I thought about the idea of allowing prompts from a current bingo card in the fishbowl, if someone wants to sponsor a specific development of a square.  That would give us a little more diversity without letting things get too unfocused.  It also gives me advance prompts to work with, which prevents the "dead time" that sometimes occurs before fishbowl prompts start to come in.  What do you-all think?

Poem: "A Healing Force"

This poem is spillover from the April 3, 2018 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by a prompt from [personal profile] technoshaman. It also fills the "open" square in my 4-1-18 card for the Spring Fest bingo. This poem has been sponsored by a pool with [personal profile] ng_moonmoth, [personal profile] technoshaman, and EdorFaus. It belongs to the Iron Horses thread of the Polychrome Heroics series.

Warning: This poem contains some touchy topics. Highlight to read the warnings, some of which are spoilers. It features gradual recovery from injury, cultural differences, nightmares following trauma, triggers, Mick touches Kenzie the wrong way and gets kicked flat, Kenzie feels awful despite everyone assuring him it was not his fault, meltdown with flight response, discussion of counseling options, poverty, emotional issues, and other angst. If these are sensitive issues for you, please consider your tastes and headspace before reading onward.
