Good News

Today has been a bit jumbled. There was no internet this morning, hence this post being later than usual. Internet is back up now, though.

Sponsored poems from Sunday have all been posted. I still have a couple to post from my parents.

Poetry in Microfunding:

"Energy, Made Visible" belongs to Polychrome Heroics: Shiv. Shiv is doing real live therapy now!

"Only If It Is Embraced" belongs to Polychrome Heroics: Damask.  Ham grumbles over the arrangements.

The weather has been warm, and we finally got some much-needed rain.  It rained for most of yesterday and last night, off and on today, currently raining again.  The fields are flooded, which means the ground has absorbed as much as it can.  Seen at the birdfeeders this week: sparrows, mourning doves, several cardinals, a pair of goldfinches, a pair of house finches, and an indigo bunting.  The mourning dove nest under the kitchen window has failed again. :(  In bloom: pink chives, marigolds, gazania, blue lobelia, white alyssum, zinnias, sage, yarrow, torenia, salvia, cleome, petunia, million bells, snapdragons, lantana, coreopsis, dianthus, peppers, borage, lamb's ear, comfrey, basil, daylilies, and sundry others.  Raspberries, crabapples, and apples have green fruit.  Mulberries, serviceberries, and cherries are ripe.  I actually got some of the serviceberries and mulberries.  \o/  I bought a few more plants today, was hoping to start planting those but then it began raining again on the way home.

Monday Yardening

Today is cooler and wet.  It has rained off and on today.  The rain let up enough after supper that I could go out and plant things.  I put a Shasta daisy and some dianthus in the prairie garden.  I added a lemon thyme to the goddess garden.  I put a pink bleeding heart in the forest garden.  I planted lady's mantle and variegated oregano in the strip garden.  I still have a few things left to plant.

Magpie Monday

[personal profile] dialecticdreamer is hosting Magpie Monday with a theme of "yours and mine." Leave prompts, get ficlets!

As a target:
"If I reach $50 in tips, I'll post a bonus story (in five parts) immediately. Shiv is asked to babysit Jaxon again, but this time, he asks for help, and gets it."

Sorry I didn't get this up sooner, today's been patchy for computer access.
