I call your attention to "trumpery."

noun, plural trumperies.
1. something without use or value; rubbish; trash; worthless stuff.
2. nonsense; twaddle: His usual conversation is pure trumpery.
3. Archaic. worthless finery.

Apparently humans are not the only species who have learned to use fire.  In Australia, three  different species of raptors -- collectively called "firehawks" by the Aborigines -- deliberately spread fires to flush out their prey.  Which is exactly what a lot of humans do with it.

And there goes one of the last, great barriers of accomplishment between humans and everything else.  *BOOM* *smaaaash*
