Poem: "The Best of All Instructors"

This poem is from the May 3, 2016 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by prompts from ng_moonmoth, book_worm5, kestrels_nest, [personal profile] capriuni, and [personal profile] moongoddessgirl. It also fills the "Mr. Grenade and Hadyn practicing" square in my 5-1-16 card for the Finish It Bingo fest. This poem has been sponsored by EdorFaus and daisiesrockalot. It belongs to the Danso and Family thread of the Polychrome Heroics series.

Poll: Interest in Themes for Early 2017

We have a big batch of themes to consider.  As these lists have gotten longer and more interesting, it has gotten harder to choose 5-6 for the upcoming months by using a single poll, because most people had only 1-2 votes and the scatter was too wide.  So I'm trying something new.  This poll uses checkboxes.  You may check as many themes  as you are interested in, where "interested" means "I want to leave prompts and/or buy poems about this."  Preferably, don't mark all of them.  The idea is to identify the most popular topics, while giving people the freedom to show all their interests.  I will drop off the ones that have the least votes.  Then I'll make another poll for the final voting, which will use limited votes.

Everyone is eligible to vote in this poll.  I will keep it open until at least Sunday night.  If there's a clear answer then, I'll close it.

Happy New Year!

For those of you celebrating the Gregorian New Year, I wish you a happy one.  :D

Here are some safety tips for partying tonight

Because not everyone follows safety tips, you never know when they might need a hero.  Know the signs of alcohol poisoning and what to do for a drunk friend.  Have a designated driver if people will be drinking alcohol, collect funds to hire a ride, or keep tipsy people overnight.  Watch for sexual harassment and be prepared to intervene.  Think about holiday party hazards and be ready to provide first aid.

If you are a designated driver, party monitor, or host of a party with similar safety protocols, then you can reveal a verse in any open perk poem:
"Spirit of Truth"
"Testing the Metal"
"Dangerous Refuges"
"From Silica to Silk"
"The Marble and the Sculptor"
"Picking Up the Litter"
"The Golden Peaches of Peace"

For a peek at how people in Terramagne handle someone who's had too much to drink, see "Through the Haze" and "The World Keeps Spinning." Similarly, "Down New Paths" does not involve actual alcohol but does feature a similar level of disorientation.
