Poem: "Disconnected"

This is the freebie for the February 2015 Creative Jam. It was inspired by a prompt from [personal profile] anke. It also fills the "Have a nice life. Ahh who am I kidding I hope you get hit by a moving truck." square on my 1-31-15 card for the Valentine's Day Bingo Fest. This poem belongs to the series Polychrome Heroics.

Warning: Because Officer RAT is always a warning. In this case, he's being a jerk and having personal problems as a result. Rude language. Emotional tension.

What I Have Written

"Disconnected" -- In today's freebie, Officer RAT has another misadventure.

"Tools and Toys"
From this I got the free-verse poem "Tools and Toys." Aquariana discovers that her dolphin friends make toys and tools out of air bubbles and have a more sophisticated grasp of technology than humans realized.
326 lines, Buy It Now = $163

"Heart upon a Chain"
This mixed with [community profile] nineforthenebulasheart to inspire the indriso "Heart upon a Chain." Some time after the quest, Paul gives the Heart to someone else.
8 lines, Buy It Now = $5

"To Choose a Direction"
This inspired the free-verse poem "To Choose a Direction." Merle contemplates the dilemma of academic specialization and finds a creative solution.
53 lines, Buy It Now = $20

Thinking about connections led me to a pair of poems about Glyn and Ruggiero, tying into some stuff that [personal profile] dialecticdreamer is working on, written in unrhymed tercets.
"The Strength to Persevere" explores how Glyn views Ruggiero as a protector and a source of motivation, and she doesn't know if he quite gets the importance of that.
36 lines, Buy It Now = $15
"The Treasure of Happiness" reveals how Ruggiero sees Glyn and precious and resourceful, even though he knows she doesn't see herself that way.
48 lines, Buy It Now = $20
They're still working through some communication challenges, but they're so good for each other, these two.

"Often Buried Deep"
From this came the free-verse poem "Often Buried Deep." It follows Astin on a loop around the trade circuit, and then back to the warehouse at Trunnion, connecting the dots.
328 lines, Buy It Now = $164

"Anahata"
This is a free-verse poem about Betty Ross and Bruce Banner doing yoga together.
70 lines, free

From My Prompts

[personal profile] dialecticdreamer has written a poem based on my prompt about Sabine, which will be posted in full on Monday.
EDIT 2/17/15: You can now read "Textures of Family" on her website.

[personal profile] mdlbear wrote the poem "Round dance, 2138" from my prompt about the Moon.  It's a lovely bit of lunar description.

[personal profile] zeeth_kyrah wrote "Traders and Keepers" about my prompt of women in a market.
