Story: "Squiggles" 1513.10.01

"Squiggles: Excerpts from Nleimen's Journal"

My letter-friend Tosh sent me a lengthy copy of his notes on the square-paint pattern in horses. He reminds me of myself as a novice mouse-breeder! He also gave me a book, A Horse of Every Color: Coats and Markings for the Equine Fancier as an early year-end present. The illustrations alone make it worth owning, quite a lovely example of horse pictures, aside from the fascinating discussion of color types. It barely touches on genetics but does list horse breeds.

So, yes, I sent him the original painting of Hexball after all. He'll probably enjoy it more than I will anyhow.

General Fund Poll for 6-23-14

A couple of general fund donations came in totalling $15.  Since we haven't extended the open epics recently, I'm routing it there.  Everyone is eligible to vote in this poll.  I will keep it open until at least Tuesday midday.  If there's a clear answer then, I'll close it.  Otherwise I may keep it open a little longer.

Poem: "When the Road Is Bent"

This poem came out of the June 17, 2014 Poetry Fishbowl.  It was inspired by prompts from paka and janetmiles.  It has been opened for crowdfunding with a donation from zianuray.  This poem also fills the "major illness" square on my 6-10-14 card for the Hurt/Comfort fest.  It belongs to the series Frankenstein's Family.

This microfunded poem is being posted one verse at a time, as donations come in to cover them. The rate is $.50/line, so $5 will reveal 10 new lines, and so forth. There is a permanent donation button on my profile page, or you can contact me for other arrangements. You can also ask me about the number of lines per verse, if you want to fund a certain number of verses.
So far sponsors include: little_lynnet, kestrels_nest, general fund, Anthony & Shirley Barrette
