Read "Earthrise"

[personal profile] haikujaguar has just posted the first installment of "Earthrise."  I've read an earlier version of this, and it's a lovely story.  Romance, intrigue, space opera ... a lot of cool stuff that the mainstream publishers aren't much interested in.  For everything else, there's crowdfunding.  I've wanted to be able to share this with folks, for years, and now I can.  Highly recommended.

Take Back Halloween

siege tipped me to the website Take Back Halloween.  It's a response to all the sexist, racist, and otherwise biased Halloween costumes from the commercial industry.  It profiles important women from history and legend, explaining how to compile a costume for them without having to sew one from scratch or buy a premade ensemble.  Some of my favorites include Enheduanna, Mae West, Amaterasu, and Nzinga.  If you have daughters of trick-or-treat age, sons who enjoy crossdressing, or you're planning to dress up yourself -- give this site a look.

Read "Reaching for the Moons"

You can now read my story "Reaching for the Moons" over in Torn World.
Denel, Jerumal, and their sons visit the Pearly Towers.
It's visible to everyone this week only, in support of the fiction poll.

If you like this story and want to see more like it, please consider sending me credits or karma through Torn World's crowdfunding options.  Not a Torn World member, but still want to support the work? I have a permanent PayPal button on my LJ profile page.
