Poetry Fishbowl Report for April 3, 2012

The April theme was "steampunk and other eras."  Prompts came in a fairly steady stream through the day.  A total of 16 people sent prompts.  There were 61 comments including mine.  I worked from 1:30 PM to 2:15 AM, so about 10 hours 45 minutes, allowing for lunch and supper breaks.  (Plus a few more hours on subsequent days, working on spillover poems.)

I wrote 14 poems on Tuesday, and another 5 later.  There were a lot of epics, although I did eventually fill in the other size categories as well.  This month featured a lot of form poems -- ballads, a sonnet, a villanelle, a couple of tankas, and one written in haiku verses.  There was a fairly even mix of one-prompt poems, doubles and triples, and a few that combined many prompts.

There was one new prompter, lb_lee, who activated the second freebie.  Special thanks to minor_architect for managing the linkback poem, "Family Ways" (Monster House), which is now finished. Special thanks to my_partner_doug for managing the ticker.

Donations went wild, capping out at $414, a new record.  I love you all so much.  Meeting the $200 goal gets you a free epic; the poll to select a series for that is still open.  The followup poll for distributing the general fund is also still open.  The $250 goal for an extra fishbowl session has one mark out of three needed to activate it.  The $300 goal for a sale on poetry from one series was also met; I'll post a poll for which series later.
