Poem: "Low-Hanging Fruit"

This poem is spillover from the February Crowdfunding Creative Jam, which generated the Hart's Farm series.  Various folks wanted to see more of Auduna adapting to life in this community; this poem shows what happens when she encounters one of the more peculiar activities that some people enjoy.  It has been selected in an audience poll as the freebie, activated by the several new prompters and donors that this series has attracted.  You can also read about the Akero apples online.

Poem: "Spots"

This poem is spillover from the February 21, 2012 Poetry Fishbowl.  It was inspired by prompts from marina_bonomi, meeksp, and wyld_dandelyon.  It was selected in an audience poll as a freebie, based on the fishbowl attracting two new prompters.  Among the references I used for this poem were articles about cheetahs and Arthur Wellesley.  You can find more poems in the Steamsmith series through the Serial Poetry page.

Poetry Fishbowl on Tuesday, March 6

This is an advance announcement for the Tuesday, March 6, 2012 Poetry Fishbowl. This time the theme will be "commoner heroes & second fiddles." I'll be soliciting ideas for heroic commoners, doomed heroes, sidekicks, backup and reserves, innocent bystanders, artifacts for non-heroes, heroic artifacts in non-heroic hands, situations in which a hero is helpless but others are not, plot twists where the favorite gets killed right out of the gate, instances where no hero is available at all, everyday locations for momentous events, terrain as a plot hazard, and poetic forms in particular.

If you're interested, mark the date on your calendar, and please hold actual prompts until the "Poetry Fishbowl Open" post next week. Meanwhile, if you want to help with promotion, please feel free to link back here or repost this on your blog.
